It’s okay. It’s just a day. I sink into my body right here, right now. I am safe.

But I am sad. I feel pain.

I’ve felt it before. I physically cannot remember all the times I’ve felt pain. Physiologically, biologically. It’s preservation.

Misery and pain are just part of the human experience. As are joy and happiness.

These will pass. Those will pass.

Come and go as all these feelings do.

Breath through this one. Let it consume you. I dare you.

Not only can I handle it, I already have thousands and thousands of times.

And most importantly, then I’ve felt joy again. There’s never actually been a moment where it’s “too” much. I'm still here aren't I?

Eventually it’s not even here at all anymore.

Only to forget in this moment all the times past, good and bad.

It’s naive to think that won’t be the same today.

Oh do you see what this conversation did? Do you taste that? That’s hope.

Right here, right now, feel the pain, taste the hope by knowing it's just a feeling. And you have no choice but to feel it.

You know what you like in life that you can provide yourself with right?

That “self care”. Let’s do it when we’re ready.
