We Are Not Our Feelings

Feelings are not facts. Feelings are energetic vibrations that come from our thoughts, experiences, and environment.

Each emotion has a distinct energetic frequency. For example:

  • Love, gratitude, and joy vibrate at a higher frequency

  • Fear, anger, shame and guilt vibrate at a lower frequency, heavy and often draining.

When we say "I am angry" it's not quite true. You feel anger. The difference matters. When you believe you are the feeling, you get swept into its storm and you lose your power to decide as you, you are making it as the feeling. You lose your freedom.

When you remember you are simply experiencing, you gain the space to have your choice and freedom.

Once you name your feeling, you allow it to become a part of the human experience.

When we resist emotions, that energy gets stuck, learning to tension, physical symptoms and ultimately still controlling us. When we allow ourselves to feel and process them consciously, the energy then moves through us. It flows.

Although practical application is easier said than done, the goal is to learn to avoid becoming it and instead to welcome it. Observe it. Let it teach you and then let it go.

You are not your feelings. You are the one who feels them.
